April Recap
March and April seemed to fly by (for the most part đ) for me and Iâm grateful to be seeing signs of spring here in Bend..buds on the trees, bulbs starting to pop up, a little more green, and longer days.
A few highlights from April⌠(head to the post to see more)!
Show Up Messy
Show up messyâŚ
Where in your life do you find are you trying to do it all on your own?
Where are you trying to piece together stretches, exercises, etc to decrease your pain and get back to the activities you love?
Where are you feeling stuck and uncertain about the next step?
As BrenĂŠ Brown says, âWe donât have to do it all on our own. We were never meant to.â
If youâre ready to show up, Iâm here for it!
February Recap
My husband and I got out of Bend for a few weeks for some tropical adventures and were fortunate enough to spend some time exploring the Big Island of Hawaiâi, checking out the beaches, sunsets, lava fields, erupting volcano, snorkeling with the manta rays, and relaxing in the sun.
Iâm sharing some tangible and non-tangible experiences from our time in on the island.
Embrace the Challenge Pt âď¸
What I tend to see for many of the patients I work with is thisâŚ
Pain decreases + movement improves = increased confidence
With increased confidence, folks jump back into activity (the intensity of activity varies greatly from person to person) and theyâre hit with pain đĽ again and this often leads to frustration and fear
When we talk about what they were expecting of their healing journey, folks indicate they expected a straight line from start to painfree activity. So, it makes sense that a set-back feels devastating.
The reality is, just like working toward any goal in life, the healing process is not linear and there will be ups and downs along the way.
