From my heart ❤️

I’ve been sitting with the heaviness of the ongoing events of the world feeling a mix of emotions - overwhelmed, heartbroken, disheartened, questioning, examining the privileges I hold. (I’m grateful to be held in exploration of my privileges by my mentors Shirin Eskandani and Emily Anne Brant)

As a white, cis-hetero woman living in the US, I’ve never had to live through war, oppression, or a genocide. I’ve never had my identity questioned, I’ve never had to defend who I love. (And, I acknowledge that these privileges and the comforts that come with them are just of few of the many I hold)

Last week, I was in a space of questioning and wondering, what can I do to make a difference? With the help of my coach it became clear that I what I can do in this moment is hold space for folks. I can show up with kindness, care, and compassion. While I may never know the impact or ripple effects of heart-lead interactions, I have a sense we could all use a little more of them in our lives.

So, I hope you are taking good care of yourself, slowing down, turning off the news/social media, connecting with those you feel safe and seen with.

If you’re looking for a space to be held in all of your humanity, please know that I’m here for you.

With kindness,

Bre
